Argos Translations joins the ALC

This July, Argos Translations expanded its involvement with select organizations within the translation industry by joining the Association of Language Companies.
By joining the ALC, Argos Translations has broadened the list of esteemed organizations of which it is already a long standing member of, including GALA, LISA, and the ATA.
With this new membership Argos Translations looks to assist in the improvement of the translation industry’s recognition at large. Argos Translations believes that through active participation in such leading associations, global advancements in the collective standards, regulations and best practices of both translators and translation vendors alike, can be achieved.

Argos Translations ISO 9001/2000 certificate renewal

This month Argos Translations had successfully passed the audit of its ISO 9001/2000 certificate originally obtained in 2003 through BVQI. As an acknowledgement to Argos Translations principal mission to continually improve its quality processes and procedures to offer its clients high quality services at outstanding value, the certificate had been extended for another 16-month period.
Over the past year Argos Translations has gone through a company-wide effort to monitor processes and adapt new techniques to its project management process. In so doing, Argos Translations has been able to maintain a low cost structure allowing the company to continue to offer attractive prices to clients without lowering the high level of service quality.
Argos Translations is currently preparing to partner with a business information and consulting company in order to offer a broader range of services aimed at helping companies enter East and Central European markets. This collaboration will reflect Argos Translations drive to expand upon its portfolio of valuable services that help businesses from major industries successfully enter foreign markets.

eBAY wins Argos Translations Multilingual’s premier prize at Bonn

During the recent Localization World Bonn 2005 conference held in Germany, Argos Translations handed out a 5,000 euro prize to the global online-auction giant: eBay, Inc. The prize constituted of a voucher in the stated amount good towards any of Argos Translations translation and localization services.
eBay had won the prize by being chosen in a drawing during the closing ceremonies from amongst a wide array of participating companies including SAS Institute, Kraft, Daimler-Chrysler, Siemens, Sun and HP to name a few.
Argos Translations has extensive experience in software and website localization and with eBay’s recent inclination to enter East and Central European markets, primarily that of Poland, the quality services that Argos Translations provides will prove invaluable to the online merchant.
eBay’s Content Manager, who personally accepted the prize, had pointed out that the voucher will come in handy when eBay moves to redirect the content of their local websites to target the East European regions.
