Briefs
Kevin Fountoukidis
I had an idea that people might be interested in what goes on in my life in terms of running the company and the kinds of things that I am thinking about on a daily basis. What I’ll try to do is summarize from time to time things that are going on in my daily working life and what they mean to the company. Hopefully it won’t be too boring and it will provide some insight into the way the company is run, what is valuable and important for the company and possible some idea on the direction the company is headed. Or it will just be dreadfully boring…. Let’s hope not.
I have recently spent a lot of time meeting employees for the 30 minute briefs. First of all, let me tell you, not all of them are 30 minutes, actually they were originally meant to be 15 minutes. I’d say the average is 30 minutes, but some can run up to an hour. Believe me, I am not complaining. I really find these meetings to be very interesting and valuable. I sense that employees are open and honest with me and that is great. I really get a sense for how things are going in the company and what needs improving and what can be improved. Believe me, when I take notes, I do something about them. I also get ideas on how to improve things or how we can develop (hopefully they don’t end up creating more work for the people who gave me those ideas). I think the most gratifying part for me though is seeing that we have really good smart people in the company, who really seem to care about what they are doing. When I see that I believe that this company can do amazing things.
