Clinical chemistry translation project

Project Brief:

Argos Translations regularly completes biotechnology translations for the clinical chemistry sector. Recently, a large IVD manufacturer contacted Argos with a package inserts translation of their application for general clinical chemistry analyzers. This medical translation project also entailed review and quality assurance checks over 5 languages: English, French, Italian, German and Spanish and across 6,600 words of content.

As Argos was given 2 weeks to complete all work. We assigned a team of 5 translators and a Quality Assurance specialist to ensure all medical translations were consistent and accurate. Our client also delivered bilingual files from a previous project (related to a similar product) that were completed by another vendor in the past. Argos was asked to use these files along with our Translation Memory tools to assist in the translation process and help reduce translation costs over this assignment.

Having such files, which included vocabulary from the first generation's product, Argos aligned them for use in a TM database that could utilize bilingual data. Furthermore, as Argos worked on TTX files during the course of the project, but our client requested only Word and PDF files to be delivered, we also used our DTP QA specialists to convert all files into their appropriate delivery format.

In the end, the project took Argos 7 working days to complete (including a 2 day lead time) managing to deliver all files 2 days ahead of schedule. The client was not only satisfied with the quick delivery of quality translations, but was also impressed with Argos' prompt responses to all of their inquiries.
