Argos Translations was commissioned by a leading antivirus software developer to perform document translation and software testing of their products into Hungarian. Our client was planning to enter CEE region with the newest version of their application and required antivirus software translation in order to adapt all software strings into Hungarian. As the antivirus software translation project entailed adapting over 400K words of content, and as our client had prepared Translation Memory databases ahead of time, Argos made sure to put our localization services to use over the course of this assignment.
The deadline we were given was 2 months. However, with such a large project, which required not only translation work but also software testing and localization, Argos attached a skilled team of 6 translators and localization specialists who worked together to ensure all work was handled on time.
In an effort to maintain consistency throughout the project while speeding up the software translation process, Argos utilized Translation Memory tools. In fact, TM tools and a TM server were used intensively over the course of the assignment assisting all participants in their work (one online TM server and database were shared by multiple translators and were used to create a project glossary as well as help with software testing).
In the end, the use of TM tools helped cut down time required to complete all translations while it improved consistency throughout the project. The end result was of such high quality that our client immediately forwarded us another batch of translations for additional languages.
