Argos Translations offers translation services for multiple industries including translations for industrial machinery manufacturers. One such company needed to translate diagnostic manuals for their agricultural and forestry machinery which included: tractors, combines, sprayers, harvesters, skidders, forwarders, feller bunchers, cotton pickers, backhoe loaders and even navigation software.
The manufacturer decided to use Argos Translations because of our experience in translations for other industrial machinery companies and because of Argos Translations’ capacity to handle large projects, multiple languages and utilize Translation Memory tools to streamline the translation process. As such, Argos Translations took on the assignment that required complete manual translations and software localization into many Central and Eastern European languages along with some Balkan language translations.
The whole project spanned over 3 years as newer and larger user and diagnostic manuals were added. At one point, translation work expanded to include translations of 3mln words into Russian alone. In order to cope with such a large project and ensure that quality was maintained throughout the process, Argos Translations used Translation Memory tools extensively on this assignment. In fact, Argos Translations utilized Translation Memory servers that allowed more translators to work simultaneously online helping to maintain translation consistency and speed across all parts of the project. Additionally, Argos Translations developed extra tools that automated work required to check files for the client.
Argos Translations established dedicated teams of specialized translators able to meet the client’s turnaround requirement. In fact, at any given time up to 6 translators worked on a single portion of the project, as often multiple translations into the same language ran at the same time. The project was completed to the client’s specifications, meeting established deadlines and quality expectations. Thanks to the translation work completed by Argos Translations, the client was able to shift their products into foreign markets boosting their international sales numbers.
