Before the 2008 EuroCup games, many sport related companies and businesses contacted Argos Translations to complete sports translations of their products and services. Almost all European companies tried to take advantage of the international commercial, sales and advertising opportunities that Euro 2008 carried, utilizing translation services to attract diverse groups of potential consumers.
One pan-European organization contracted Argos Translations to complete a website translation project, which included a tour guide translation of Vienna, Klagenfurt, Basil as well as other regions of Austria and Switzerland. The online tour guide was meant as a useful marketing tool for fans of EuroCup who visited Austria/Switzerland during the championship that not only provided regional information but also attracted fans to the message of the organization.
Argos Translations dedicated a team that consisted of translators and localization engineers to complete this 5000 word project in less than a week. The result was a spectacular success, which encouraged Euro fans to visit not only other regions of the hosting countries, but also to become more aware of the issues the organization aimed to promote.
