Argos Translations is proud of the fact that in 2003 the company attained its first ISO 9001:2003 certification. Since then, Argos has followed-up and expanded our quality focus, which now includes:
ISO 9001:2008 certification
ISO 9001 deals with the fundamentals of quality management systems, including eight quality management principles on which the family of standards is based. ISO 9001 categorizes all requirements that companies looking to obtain the standard have to fulfill. Mainly, however, the ISO 9001 certification relates to quality management systems, their use and incorporation within a quality assurance process at a given company. ISO 9001 helps organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders.
EN 15038 certification
The EN 15038 standard was published in 2006 by CEN, the European Committee for Standardization. It was specifically written for the translation industry as many translation companies were looking for a reliable method of demonstrating the quality of the services they provide to their customers. As a wide range of translation companies on the market offered "quality" translation services, it was necessary to standardize the quality expectations and requirements above and beyond standard ISO 9001 certification.
EN 15038 standard is followed by companies especially interested in offering absolutely highest-quality translations through a standardized approach and a translation-specific process.
ISO 13485:2003 certification
ISO 13485 is a member of the ISO standards family and “specifies requirements for a quality management system that can be used by an organization for the design and development, production, installation and servicing of medical devices, and the design, development, and provision of related services”. In short, ISO 13485 is a medical device standard that determines quality requirements for companies involved in production (incl. translation) of medical devices.
Medical companies expect this certification from their vendors and Argos is one of only a handful of translation companies that is ISO 13485 certified.
Quality Assurance
In order to promote continuous improvement of Argos' translation processes, Argos dedicated a specific QA department to deal directly with Quality Assurance dilemmas, process improvements and procedural maintenance.
Argos Translations continually strives to make translation and localization processes as efficient as possible all the while improving the quality of translated work and localization projects. Argos Translations strongly believes that through appropriate directives it can entirely eliminate errors and mistakes from delivered projects. In so doing, not only is Argos Translations able to offer higher quality translation services, but the company can do so at reasonable prices due to efficient processes.
