One of the Things I Enjoy About My Job

Short post here, but something that struck me recently.

I have to say that one of the things that gives me pleasure is watching people develop. Its just a natural thing but its amazing to see. I have seen so many people come for job interviews who are completely inexperienced. Its amazing to watch as the years go by how such a person can change. You can watch someone go from being a completely inexperienced young kid, to a mature seasoned industry professional over a couple years.

I find that to be really satisfying. It makes me happy that Argos can offer people careers. I don’t even mind when people quit (obviously you always hope its done as professionally as possible). Its rewarding when I then get to see them later developing themselves in another company. I guess what I am saying is in this job I get to watch people grow up and develop professionally and its gratifying to know that Argos somehow helps in that process. We are doing something more than just offering a service or just making a profit. Its also about helping people learn skills and improve their lives. I don’t mean to get sentimental here or anything, just thought I’d share something that I appreciate about my job.
